Hello 2nd Grade Families,
We will start the note taking process of our biography project next week. Therefore, all students must have their biography book by Monday. Ideally, champions have started reading their books before Monday in order to make the note taking easier (I obviously will not read all 22 biographies so it will be a challenge for me to help each student find all of their information. The more familiar they are with their books, the better it will be). Beginning on Monday, champions should keep the biography at school.
Thanks for helping make this project a success. Our class is SO excited about it and they’ve been working hard!
Have a great rest of the week!
Ms. Lombardo

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

We are excited to start Wax Museum Biography Projects!

PART ONE: Champions will be given time in class to read, research, and write a biography (an account of a notable figure´s life, written by someone else) on one chosen historical figure.

We recommend talking about these common characteristics of biographies at home with your champion relating to the figure of his/her choice:
  • Birth and Death
  • Background or Childhood
  • Challenges or Struggles
  • Achievements
  • Influential People
  • Timeline of Events

PART TWO: Champions will dress up as the person and present a short essay in character during a Wax Museum families will be invited to attend on May 4 (more details about PART TWO coming Friday April 13).

PLEASE return the form below by Monday, April 9

Make sure to locate a biography based on these choices & be prepared to create a costume (reach out to your collegiate leader if you need help; we have SOME student-friendly biographies at school).

First Day of Spring

We were so lucky today to have Mrs. Eslami come teach us about the Persian New Year celebrated surrounding the first day of Spring. Thank you for bringing your story, gifts, and traditions to share with our classroom.
