READING HLO

We will have class time to finish 45 minutes of reading per week in iReady, but anything not finished in class will be HLO. Please help them monitor their minutes. Each subject has a progress square in the top right corner; click it and see minutes completed on the left. It tracks from Sunday to Monday each week.

  • Champions can choose whatever they would like to read daily, the goal is an hour and a half of reading per week.
  • CHAMPIONS are responsible to record minutes read, title and author of the book, as well as choose menu response items. These need to be in complete sentences with appropriate capitalization, punctuation and spelling.
  • This can be completed whenever they like within the week and is to be turned in on Mondays when they will also receive a new set.
  • Champions are always welcome to read books from the classroom, as well as bring books from home to school, and are welcome to work on HLO during dismissal at school.

Please email me with any questions. Happy reading!

HLO Projects
  • Quarterly Science and Social Studies projects will come home through the year; information about these will be in the newsletter, emails, daily folders, and posted on this site.
GRADES
You can see champion grades in Powerschool
  1. I can’t do this yet.
  2. I still need some practice or help to do this.
  3. I can do this by myself!
  4. I can apply this in a new way and teach someone else how to do it.
IMPORTANT POWERSCHOOL INFORMATION

If you look at your champion’s grade, do not be alarmed by the “percentage” and “grade” at the far right. These are NOT accurate and I am not able to change the view. The only true score is shown as 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, or 4/4. This is NOT a ratio and the only grade that applies is the 1,2,3,4.
