Parent Communication

Frequent parent communication is a vital part of my classroom.  The following are the ways that communication will happen most often.
1) Classroom News Letters: My classroom news letters will be the most frequent way I will communicate to you about classroom learning and events. This weekly letter will be a collaborative effort between all team members but Fourth Grade Collegiate Leaders as well as a personalized notes and pictures from myself.  I will be sending these news letters via email. At the moment I only have one email address for each child, but I am sure that both parents, stepparents, and even grandparents would like to stay updated.  Please send me an email directly if you would like to have additional emails added to the mailing list.
2) Classroom website:   Do you ever ask your child what they learned during the day, only to hear them say “nothing.” My aim is to fix that problem. The classroom website will also be very important source of information.  I will have pages created for academics, homework, resources, general information, field trips, etc.  The academic pages have videos posted to reinforce the content.  This includes math “how to” videos as well as science reinforcements. These pages are the best way to learn more about our classroom academics.
3) Emails: Email is the best way to contact any of the 4th grade Collegiate Leaders.  Please allow 24 hours to respond if your email is sent during the week.  If an email is sent Friday afternoon-Sunday, please expect a response by Monday afternoon.
4) Parent Conferences: I will meet with every family prior by the end of October.  I will begin scheduling conferences after students have completed benchmark assessments and I have begun to get to know your child as a learner and awesome human. In September I will send out a Signup Genius for you to choose your conference date and time.
